Ruby Zoisite
Ruby Zoisite is a green gemstone with red spots, the red spots being real rubies. Ruby Zoisite belongs to a family of gemstones that includes Thulite and Tanzanite. Zoisite is named after a mineral collector, Freiherr von Zois, who discovered the gemstone in the 1800's. Sometimes referred to as "Anyolite". Composed of a Calcium Aluminum Silicate, in which much substitution of the aluminum ion with Iron and Manganese occurs, causing the wide range of colors of this stone.
Hardness: 6 on the Moh's Hardness Scale.
