Chrysoprase
The most expensive and prized of all Quartz varieties, composed of finely crystalline Silicon Dioxide (Quartz). vivid, translucent to opaque mint to grass or apple green from the presence of nickel/and or zinc. Most modern day Chrysoprase comes from Australia.
Angelic; promotes alertness, well-being, independence, quick-wittedness; encourages beauty, love, wisdom, spiritual faith and generosity. Relieves depression, sexual imbalance and anger. Aids healing in the areas of skin diseases and is detoxifying. Anti-depressant aids in fluctuating mood swings. Also stimulates liver function and fertility.
- Activates, opens, and energizes the heart chakra. Can facilitate a deep heart connection with the Mother Earth. Some like to use this stone to manifest abundance, or to bring courage to act on our convictions. Many people already have courage, but have a hard time recognizing it. - This stone was the favorite jewel or stone of Queen Anne of England and has remained popular all the way through the reign of Queen Victoria. The Greeks and Romans used the stone in cameos. In Egypt, the stone was set next to Lapis Lazuli for beads and jewelry. can be seen today decorating many buildings in Prague, including the Chapel of St. Wenceslas. The well-known designer, Peter Carl Faberge, used it often in his exquisite pieces. The stone is even referenced in the Bible. The Book of Revelations (21:20) describes the holy city of Jerusalem with its 12 foundation walls, each decorated with precious gemstones, including the tenth, being Chrysoprase.

Mystical Properties:
- Legend says Chrysoprase could bring about respite from punishment. Thought to bring happiness to its wearer and expel negative thoughts and irritability. Thought to bring good fortune and prosperity.
- The 10th layer of the City of God is said to be lined in Chrysoprase, which was thought to represent the work of the martyrs and the blessings they received from these selfless works. Others attribute the stone to lack of tolerance toward sinners.
- Alexander the Greek was rumored to have one on his saddle that he took into battle with him. It was reputed lost during his Indian campaign--allegedly bitten off by a snake and dropped into the river.
- Because its bright green color is like the new leaves of spring, it is said to favor all things new, especially children.
- Natural Healers use Chrysoprase to heal a broken heart.
Healing Properties: Said to increase the immune system response to disease and help with failing eyesight. Said to be a "cooling" stone that brings on shivering.
