Aventurine
This form of Crypto crystalline Quartz contains inclusions of small crystal (unoxidzed minerals) and gives a range of colors - depending on the nature of the inclusion. Hence aventurine may be green, greenish-brown, bluish-white, bluish green and orange (which is called “red”, peach or apricot). Aventurine’s claim to fame is having inclusions that look like sparkles. Aventurine gets its name from the Italian "a ventura", meaning "by mistake" as synthetic aventurine was discovered by accident when some copper fell into a vat of molten glass. Natural Peach Aventurine, a variety of translucent quartz, derives its color from minor inclusions of oxidized iron. The darker shades are sometimes referred to as "Red Aventurine". Aventurine also comes in green and less commonly, blue.
